PICKERING APPOINTED SENIOR COACH

Trinity Aquinas is thrilled to announce the appointment of Adam Pickering as the clubs new Senior Coach.

In a coup for the club, Pickering comes into the role as the most highly credentialled coach in our history.

Originally hailing from Victoria, Pickering was drafted to Carlton where he spent 3 seasons followed by one at Richmond. He headed west in 2004 after being recruited by East Perth where he played for 7 seasons before entering their coaching ranks in 2011.

Spending 2 seasons at Perth FC in 2012 & 13, Pickering took the midfield group and became well acquainted with likes of Christian Eyres, Dene White and most notably formed a great relationship with Daniel O’Sullivan who gave a glowing endorsement.

Returning to East Perth in 2014, Adam coached the Reserves for 2 years, followed by the Colts for 2 years before most recently at WAFL League level as the head coach of Swan Districts for the past 5 seasons from 2018.

When asked what attracted him to the prospect of taking the helm at TA’s, Pickering said:

“The people. Not just the playing list which looks to be strong, but everyone that I met that is associated with Trinity Aquinas are great people. I also think with what Daniel has built over the past few seasons, the club is in a great position to be taking the next step.”

Club President Gerard Arangio said of the appointment:

“As soon as Daniel stepped down, Football Director Simon Franich and I have been hard at work trying to find a replacement that can take this group forward. Our firm belief has been that an experienced, credentialled senior coach is what we need to get results out of our list. We’re extremely happy to say that’s exactly what Adam brings.”

Please join us in welcoming Adam to the TA’s fraternity as we look forward to season 2023!
